I would that God

The Curious Unbeliever

I would that God would stand and spare

a minute, just to prove He’s there.

                                God

“How can I stand and spare a minute?

I’m outside space and time, not in it.”

So even though I deeply care

I am not part of ‘when’ and ‘where’

which circumscribe the lives you lead;

yet give the time and space you need

to wonder how things came to be

made by a God you cannot see.

and of whom most are unaware.

                   The Curious Unbeliever

It still seems cruelly unfair

that we can't know if you are there.

God

What can I say? I fear you must

take much of what I am on trust.

But please believe this much is true -

nothing will shake My faith in you.
